Our summer wind's been blowin' in, and this year it's bringing three months
of sun, fun, art fairs, street fests, musical extravaganzas and blockbuster
movies. But summer 2001 promises more than just the same old same old; as
the millennium fever recedes, and the financial picture recesses, the
upcoming three months take on the much needed task of revitalizing our
sagging spirits and warming us up to the simple joys--like puppets, outdoor
concerts, popcorn movies, fireworks, street shopping and monkey knife
fights. We say it to you every year and we'll say it again: Unless it's more
than 100 degrees, sunny and you've got central air, there's no damn reason
to be in your house. There's plenty of stuff to do, and, for those of us
feeling the bite, a lot of it's free! So get up and go now because it will
be fall again before you know it, with only a biting wind and cold winter on
the horizon.
