Hideout’s second annual daylong festival that benefits Chicago artists prepping their trek to Austin for the annual South by Southwest shindig boasts a big, bold lineup of solid local acts. The mighty Sybris opens the day at noon, followed by a tightly woven trail of performances by Apteka, Cameron McGill, Mittens on Strings, JT and the Clouds, The Hood Internet, Hollywood Holt, Bound Stems, Make Believe, Pit Er Pat, Waco Brothers, Tight Phantomz, Killer Whales, Icy Demons, Tom Schraeder & His Ego and Ezra Furman & The Harpoons. Indie-pop lovelies Scotland Yard Gospel Choir (see Cover Story) headline the evening, hitting the stage at 12:45am. Last year was a blast—just make sure to get your rest the night before and not make the mistake I did, having a systematic body crash around 10pm.
Hideout’s “Sending the Four-Star City to the Lonestar State” is March 8 at Hideout, 1354 West Wabansia, (773)227-4433, at noon. $10.
