![]() Boutiqueville Guide to the retail wonderland
Boutiqueville is Back.
Question: What makes Chicago such a stellar shopping city? (Hint—it ain’t the national department store chains nor the various hotshot Swedish retailers in and outside the city.) Answer: It’s the dozens upon dozens of independently run boutiques that line the streets of our stylish town. Each shop brings its own flavor, passion and perks to the shopping world, combining to ensure Chicago leaves no designer uncovered, no trend overlooked and no style palate abandoned. You won’t see many cookie-cutter looks walking down our fair streets; Chicago’s boutique culture helps keep our city looking fashion-tastic while allowing shoppers to remain true to their own personal style.
So it’s absolutely, totally necessary that Chicago has a guide to all these fabulous shops, right? We sure think so, which is why we’ve continued to update Boutiqueville, our guidebook to more than a hundred independently run, exclusive-to-Chicago stores. To complete our latest installment of the ‘Ville, our style-obsessed writers pounded the pavement to say goodbye to over-and-out designers, update you on all the changes and catalog the handful of new boutiques that continue to (thankfully) pop up all over Chicago. In each store’s mini-guide you’ll find information on the look, the vibe, the price range, the perks and what each shop owner is oh-so-excited about for the cooler months, which means you can get that mental shopping map plotted for your fall fashion spending spree.
So take a minute to flip through the guide, then bust out that list of fall wardrobe necessities and start adding! Thanks to the little shops that could, us Chicagoans can find any piece we need to complete our perfectly individual looks, and the opportunity to stay true to your style self is what makes Chicago such a rockin’ shopping city.
See you in the spring!
