Red Rover Series: Exquisite Corpse

Tom Lynch

ACM (Another Chicago Magazine) celebrates the release of its latest issue, titled "ACM is DEAD," as a part of the Red Rover Series, which consistently hosts experimental reading events—tonight’s theme, "Exquisite Corpse," features contributors to the issue, helping each other, however blindly, complete pieces of work, in all exquisite corpse glory (Disclosure: I have worked as associate editor of ACM since 2004, though rather infrequently in the last year or so). Set to appear include writers Ray Bianchi, Elizabeth Bloom Albert, Jeb Gleason-Allured and Stephanie Cleveland, plus live music from Tina M. Howell & The Fellas. Also of note is the impending closure of HotHouse, a venue that has housed intriguing literary events such as these during its reign—not to mention singular world-music shows—and that will sorely be missed once the doors are officially shut. If this a last lit hoorah for the club, let it be done with style.

ACM celebrates the release of "ACM is DEAD" July 8 at HotHouse, 31 East Balbo, at 6pm. $10.
