Tip of the Week
Sam Weller & Audrey Niffenegger

Tom Lynch

Two of Columbia College's best unite to discuss their work: Weller, author of the Ray Bradbury biography "The Bradbury Chronicles," and Niffenegger, author of the uber-popular "The Time Traveler's Wife" and the graphic novel "The Three Incestuous Sisters." "The Bradbury Chronicles," the only authorized biography of the great sci-fi author, both illuminates his work and technique, as well as plunges into his personal life. Weller, while working very closely with Bradbury and his family, drenches his canvas with curious insights into the life of a much-admired--and private--author. Niffenegger's "The Time Traveler's Wife" is a time-defying love tale that sent many to the bookshelves as it transcended both traditional love-story and science-fiction narratives with something completely new. "The Three Incestuous Sisters" channeled Edward Gorey, one gothic sequence after another.

Sam Weller and Audrey Niffenegger discuss their work at The Book Cellar, 4736 North Lincoln, (773)293-2665, at 7:30pm. Free.

"Q & A" is the local band's new, self-released, self-recorded record, a deliriously rousing set of songs that find their base in dance-inducing, semi-electronic pop
