Partners of Rednofive's long-defunct Material night, co-conspirators of the Lazy FM DJ/Film series (which once hosted Carlos D. of Interpol spinning records to "Glengarry Glen Ross"), one Gramaphone techno buyer, one graphic designer...DJs Josh Werner & Rob Hamilton's influential roles have earned them a reputation for innovation. Tonight, as guest curators for the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs' Ohm series, both artists will reprise their roles as live soundtrack providers. Aiming their turntables at the silver screen for Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic "Blade Runner," expect the duo to supplement their crate-mined mix with elements from the film's script and Vangelis' gorgeous score. Although this fantastic juxtaposition of cinema and music might not equal seeing attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion, it should be a pretty spectacular approximation.
