![]() Tip of the Week An Incomplete Map of Everything
Mark Booth, best known for his biomorphic text paintings, has organized
an interdisciplinary festival that connects sound, performance and the
language arts playing at Links Hall every weekend night through the
month of February. It's a natural for Booth, whose own artistic
interests center on exactly these subjects, and "An Incomplete Map of
Everything," as it's being called, proposes pretty much just that.
Among those on the playbill, Kenneth Goldsmith reflects the ethos of the
festival most vividly in his own practice, whose poetic/artistic
concerns have morphed from art-gallery exhibition to web site (he's the
founder of the spectacular poetics archive at www.ubu.com) to books like
"Day," his transcription of one entire day's contents of the New York
Times. Also making appearances are Justin Cooper, whose recent
performances at Monique Meloche were a genuine hit, Ken Fandell showing
video, and Daniel Borzutsky sampling his fiction throughout the month. A
full schedule of events is available online at
www.linkshall.org/p-feb.htm An Incomplete Map of Everything shows at Links Hall, 3435 North
Sheffield, (773)281-0824, through February.
