Sound-Bar has a big star-studded week planned for its one-year anniversary, but if you can only make it out one night, check out Chus & Ceballos, a dynamic DJ and production duo hailing from Spain. Chus & Ceballos are filed under tribal house in the "Official Critics' Guide to Describing Music in Neat Little Categories," but make no mistake--their sound goes beyond the percussive, repetitive, and dark treatment that defines the genre. Instead, with thick, chunky tribal as their base, Chus & Ceballos explore the realms of dance music. One minute you're hearing vocals oozing with soul, the next you're hearing Spanish guitar melodies as inviting as the Mediterranean sun. The result is a lush soundscape that's raw, sexy and just about the most ideal soundtrack for spending endless hours sweating in the deepest corners of a dark dancefloor. Playing a tag-team, extended set, Chus & Ceballos are sure to make it a happy anniversary for all.
