Few writers boast a catalogue as daunting as Kushner's, and the Jewish
playwright and author has had another monster year. The accolades for
the film adaptation of his groundbreaking "Angels in America" rolled in
heavy as the six-hour miniseries swept last month's Emmy Awards, with a
screenwriting statue fresh for his trophy case. Rumors are flying that
Kushner will venture into screenwriting again, working with Eric Roth on
Steven Spielberg's upcoming historical drama, "Vengeance." The Nextbook
Writers Series brings the Pulitzer Prize winner to the Harold Washington
Library to discuss his Jewish upbringing and impact of the culture in
his work. Tony Kushner discusses his work on November 10 at the Harold
Washington Library Center, 400 South State, (312)747-4300, at 6pm. Free.
