"Aren't they pretty?" I cooed to a coworker when flipping through my
new copy of "Sexy Toys 101," lusting at the candy-shop spread of fun
vibrators and dildos and other pretty plastic things that really look
like actual toys. Her Catholic blush made me realize that this
"playfully uninhibited guide" by the founders of the acclaimed
women-run sex-toy shop, Toys in Babeland, is not the kind of book you
throw around the office. This illustrated guide to everything you ever
wanted to know about doing it and doing it well is the kind of book you
give your girlfriends or highlight for your lovers. I've already read
aloud over the phone various hilarious and playful hints and histories
from this Cliff Notes to kink--Reason #7 to Try Butt Sex:
"Closed-minded bigots think it's a sin, so it must be
fun"--everything from the bend-over-boyfriend evolution to "S & M
101" to the phenomenology of the pocket rocket. Now that we all own a
vibrator, this is the next present that gives and keeps on giving, the
female version of the Sharper Image catalogue. However, plenty of useful
hints will serve boys well, too, like that on page 20--how exactly to
reach that mysterious G-spot. Your girlfriend/lover/whomever will thank
you. Sex Toys 101: A Playfully Uninhibited Guide
